Non-Profit Guidelines and Criteria

Throughout the year we receive numerous requests for support from a wide range of deserving organizations. Unfortunately we are unable to fulfill all requests and therefore we have established guidelines and criteria to help us evaluate each request. We are committed to supporting as many groups as possible.


Non-Profit Space

We'll help you raise awareness! If you are a local non-profit organization, you have an opportunity to book a complimentary space at Richmond Centre. Please contact for more information.

Donation Requests

Raising funds for your organization can be a challenge. We may be able to help through providing a donation for your fundraising event. However please note that we do receive numerous requests each week, and we are unable to support all the wonderful organizations that are working to improve our community.



In order for us to support as many organizations as possible, please review the following criteria:

  • Organizations must be local non-profit organizations, with a focus on arts & culture, environment, health & wellness or youth (political parties, religious groups, individual pursuits and private foundations, lobbying or advocacy groups, and for-profit organizations are ineligible);
  • The event should directly benefit the Richmond community;
  • Requests should be made in writing and submitted a minimum of 4 weeks prior to your event.


All written requests should include:

  • Name, address and telephone number of your organization;
  • Contact information (name, telephone number and email);
  • A short description explaining the purpose of your event and who will benefit
  • Name, date and location of your event;
  • Your request for support (for example, door prize or auction item)

Donation requests can be submitted to Guest Services at Richmond Centre, #1400, 6551 No. 3 Road, Richmond, BC V6Y 2B6, or by email at Requests are reviewed on a monthly basis, and all organizations that will be receiving support will be contacted.


Community Board

Your non-profit community event can be posted on our Community Board located near the Administration office. Posted materials should be:

  • To raise awareness for Richmond-based non-profit organizations;
  • Professionally printed (no handwritten materials);
  • A maximum size of 11"x17".

Please note that we do reserve the right to accept and/or decline posted materials based on suitability, and is subject to space availability. Materials can be posted for a maximum of 30 days, and cannot be posted more than once every 3 months. For further details, please contact the Administration office at 604-273-4828.
