Welcome to CF Browse. This CF Browse Privacy Notice and the CF Browse Terms of Service govern your use of CF Browse. In this CF Browse Privacy Notice, you will find information about our collection, use, retention, disclosure and other processing of personal information we collect through CF Browse.

CF Browse is brought to you by Ravel – an affiliate of The Cadillac Fairview Corporation Limited. References to "Cadillac Fairview" means The Cadillac Fairview Corporation Limited and its affiliates, including Ravel.

You can use CF Browse without providing us with your name or contact information. When you install CF Browse you are assigned a randomly generated Universally Unique Identifier (UUID) which will be linked to your browsing history, usage data and other information. We do not attempt to identify you by using the UUID; however, it is theoretically possible that if you use other Cadillac Fairview services, the use of those services could be cross-reference to your UUID.

Some functions of CF Browse are powered by our service providers who will process your personal information on our behalf. In some cases, we may permit these service providers to use non-identifying information or aggregated or statistical data collected through CF Browse to maintain and improve their services.

This CF Browse Privacy Notice provides specific information relevant to your use of CF Browse. You should also review Cadillac Fairview's Privacy Policy for general information on how Cadillac Fairview handles personal information.

Information We Collect and Use

We are continually innovating to improve CF Browse and associated services. This section explains what information we collect today and what information we anticipate collecting in future releases. We will notify you before we collect additional personal information not described in this CF Browse Privacy Notice or use your personal information in a new way not disclosed in this CF Browse Privacy Notice.

  • Registration Information. You may use CF Browse without providing us with your name, email address or other contact information. In the future, you may need to create an account and provide us with your name and contact information in order to access certain features of CF Browse, such as favouriting products and services and creating shopping lists.
  • Universally Unique Identifier (UUID). When you install CF Browse, we use a randomly generated UUID that we use to identify your device. If you uninstall and reinstall CF Browse, we will generate a new UUID that will not be linked to your previous installation and use of CF Browse. We use the UUID to provide the functionality in CF Browse and, when linked with other information, to understand how you use CF Browse, including what content you find compelling.
  • Geolocation Information. You may use CF Browse without providing geolocation information. In the future, you may grant permission to use geolocation information so that we can show you the nearest mall or rank your search history by proximity to you.
  • Search History. When you search for products and services using CF Browse, we collect your in-app search history and how you interacted with any in-app advertisements, offers, promotions and other sponsored content from Cadillac Fairview, our shopping centre retailers and other promotional partners. We use this information to understand what products and services are of interest to users of CF Browse. We link your in-app search history to the UUID and, in the future, we may use that information to provide you with personalized offers. We do not collect information when you use other browsers on your device.
  • Click-Through History. We record when you click on third-party links to visit a retailer’s or promotional partner’s website; however, we do not monitor or collect any information about your browsing history on these external third-party sites. We use Click-Through History to understand when users of CF Browse use links that we offer. In addition, we combine your Click-Through History with your UUID in order to understand what retailers and promotions are of interest to you and, in the future, we may use this information and your search history, to personalize offers made to you. In some cases, Cadillac Fairview may receive compensation for directing visitors to these other websites. We may aggregate information about your click-throughs with other users in order to evaluate and audit our compensation arrangements.
  • App Usage Information. Like other publishers of mobile apps, we collect device information (such as device type, make, model, operating system, language and other configuration settings, CF Browse version, whether you are connected to wifi or using cellular data) and usage information (such as what features you use and how you interact with CF Browse). We collect this App Usage Information in order to provide the CF Browse services, to identify security vulnerabilities and to secure our services, to create metric reports, and for troubleshooting purposes. Although this information is linked to your UUID, in most cases we aggregate information about you with information of other users when we use your information in this way.
  • Contact Information. If you contact us for CF Browse support or to ask us a question about CF Browse or communicate with us through CF Browse, we will collect contact information from you such as your name and email address in order to respond to your request. We will also collect information about your request and how we responded. If you are seeking technical support, we may also collect basic CF Browse usage information, such as device type, make, model, operating system, language and other configuration settings, CF Browse version, wifi network, and telecom provider, in order to troubleshoot and resolve your technical issue.
  • ush Notification Preferences. If you subscribe for push notifications, we will collect information about the retailers from whom you wish to receive push notifications in order to manage your preferences as well as to understand your interests.
  • Analytics and Insights. Ravel may use the information you provide us or that is generated through the use of CF Browse in order to develop analyses and insights regarding users of CF Browse. We may use this information to better understand how users use CF Browse and respond to in-app offers and features. We may also use this information to assist other Cadillac Fairview affiliates, retailers and other third parties improve their products and services.

Currently, we do not use information about your search history and other use of CF Browse to develop personalized content. However, we may do so in the future.

If you uninstall and reinstall CF Browse, your UUID will be reset. We will not combine your previous search history or click-through history with your new browsing activity.

We do not currently combine information we collect from your use of CF Browse with information we collect from you when you use our other services. However, we want you to understand that this is technically possible if you use CF Browse and a service such as our shopping centre wifi. This combined information could be used to identify you.


Third-Party Service Providers

Like most companies, we use third party service providers and our affiliates to assist us in providing CF Browse and associated products and services. For example, we use third party service providers to host CF Browse servers, to randomly generate and manage the UUID, to host any communications you send to us through our contact form, to track app usage information for analytics purposes, and to track click throughs to third party links. In the future, we may offer geolocation-based services, which will be powered by third party service providers.

We require our third-party service providers to only use your personal information for the purposes of providing services to us. Like most companies, we may permit third-party service providers to use non-identifying information and information in an aggregated or statistical form in order to maintain and improve the services that they are offering Cadillac Fairview and other companies. These companies are not authorized to use that information to attempt to identify you.


When We Share or Disclose Information

  • Affiliates and Third Parties. Ravel shares information with its affiliates for the purposes of assisting those affiliates with their business or to fulfill your request. For example, if you sign up for a newsletter for a Cadillac Fairview shopping centre, we will share that information with The Cadillac Fairview Corporation Limited. In the future, our affiliates may combine information they receive from Ravel regarding your use of CF Browse with other information that they have collected about you and use that information for purposes consistent with this Privacy Notice or as disclosed in The Cadillac Fairview Corporation Limited’s Privacy Policy or another Cadillac Fairview privacy notice provided to you. In the future, Ravel may also collect information about you from our affiliates as well as from third parties that you provided your consent to share information with us. We will use that information in accordance with our Privacy Notice.
  • Analytics and Insights. We may disclose non-identifiable information such as aggregated information and statistics about how users use CF Browse and respond to in-app offers and features to third parties in order to provide services to those third parties, such as assisting them with their products and services.
  • Business transactions. We may disclose or transfer information to a third party as part of a business transaction, such as the sale of all or a portion of our assets. We may do this without your prior consent. However, either we or the purchaser will notify you if this happens. If another entity acquires all or a portion of our assets, information that we collected from you may be shared with that entity. The information may also be shared for the purpose of that entity considering whether to enter into the transaction and also to complete the transaction.
  • Legal purposes. We may also disclose your personal information if we are permitted or required to do so by law. For example, these circumstances include: (a) if such disclosure is necessary for us to receive legal advice; (b) to collect a debt from you; (c) if we are required to disclose your personal information in order to comply with any legal obligation or the decision of a judicial authority; (d) if disclosure is requested by an investigatory body, law enforcement official or governmental authority which has lawful authority to request the disclosure of the information in respect of an investigation; (e) if we have reasonable grounds to believe that the information relates to a breach of an agreement or contravention of a law; and (f) to detect, prevent or investigate fraud.


Children's Privacy

You should be at least 13 years old to use CF Browse. If you are the parent or guardian of a child under 13 years of age, please assist your child in deleting CF Browse and Contact Us for information on how to request the deletion of your child’s personal informat

If you are between 13 years of age and the age of majority in the jurisdiction in which you are using CF Browse, you must only use CF Browse under the supervision of your parent or legal guardian who agrees to these CF Browse Terms of Service. If you are a parent or legal guardian of a minor using CF Browse, you must monitor and supervise the use of CF Browse by the minor and you are responsible for all financial charges and legal liability of the minor.


App Sharing

CF Browse allows you to send a message to a friend or family member with a link to download and install the CF Browse App. You must not use this app sharing feature unless you know the individual would want to receive this message from you. We do not collect the contact information of the individual you send the message to. However, we do collect statistics on how you use this feature.

If you are a recipient of a message inviting you to download and install the CF Browse App that you believe violated this Privacy Notice, please contact us by one of the means listed below.


Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to request access to personal information that we have collected about you. These rights may be limited by law - for example, access rights may be limited if the information is subject to solicitor-client privilege or consists of references to other persons or proprietary information that cannot be severed.

You have the right to correct or update any information that we have collected about you. In some cases, if we disagree with your requested correction, we may retain the original information and note your disagreement.

You also have the right to withdraw consent to our use of personal information that we have collected about you. In some cases, you may have the right to request that we delete information if it is no longer required by us for the purposes for which we collected that information or for the purposes of fulfilling legal requirements or protecting our interests. You should be aware that it is not always possible to completely remove or delete all of your personal information from our databases without some residual copies of data because of backups, archival systems and other reasons. We will not, however, continue to use your personal information for active purposes once you have requested us not to do so.

You can opt-out/unsubscribe from push notifications at any time by changing your push notification settings under More > Notifications within CF Browse. You can unsubscribe from all push notifications or just certain retailers.

We maintain physical, technical and administrative safeguards to protect the confidentiality and security of any personal information transmitted to us using CF Browse. You have a shared responsibility to keep information that is collected or created through CF Browse safe. You should use a device password, use only the latest version of CF Browse, and install the latest security updates and anti-virus software on your device.


Privacy Notice Updates

We may amend, update and revise this CF Browse Privacy Notice and apply any changes to information previously collected, as permitted by law. If there are material changes to this policy or our information practices change in the future, we will notify you by a message through CF Browse.
